"WICHITA, Kan.-- Walt Corbin (left) and Herb Edington (right), a pair of former Warren Harding High School backfield aces, are star performers of the undefeated, untied University of Wichita freshman team.
The two lads have sparkled in the Shocker's backfield which has given Wichita its strongest freshmen team in 52 years. So far the freshman have trimmed Tulsa U., 14-13; Oklahoma A. & M., 20-0 and Hutchinson Junior College, 20-18. They met their severest test Thursday when they tackled the Fort Riley, Kan., army team.
Edington is regarded as one of the brightest prospects for the Shocker's varsity team next fall. His running has set Missouri Valley Conference followers talking in his three performances this season"
