SportsDescription
"'Red' D'Amato, former local amateur now serving with U.S. Coast Guard at Manhattan Beach, N.Y., is sent to the ropes by Ross Cooper, Buffalo Golden Gloves lightweight champion, during their feature bout at the Moose Hall Monday night.
D'Amato showed all of his old skills in the early rounds of the contest, which he won by a wide margin, but was crowded considerably during the late rounds and was prevented from firing any long knockout punches."
