Yours of 23rd Dec____________
covering the Missionary_______endorsed came to
hand on the 6th [?]. I am not particularly [?] of reserving my lands in Perry. [?] you have
an opportunity to sell them at a fair price. I
leave it with you to make sale as you judge best
for my [?]. I saw A. Champion at 7 his
a few days since he says he thinks you had better
sell that lot in [?. ⅓ is Champion & ⅔ is
mine. When you have the opportunity to make
sale of that whole lot together. As to My lands
north of Harpersfield, I wish to put them
into market as soon as it can be done at a
suitable price after [?] out in the lots as
you shall judge best. Of this however as well
as most of my lands, you will know better how
to act from your own knowledge than from any
special directions I might give. And as to
any deficiency, which might arrive on account
of the crookedness of lines so I think it ought
to be borne by the original proportions as you
mention. I think that in running out my
75 acres at (Coneatt) it will be necessary to be
particular situations as to size & quantity
making those immediately on the Lake Road smaller than
the others. It's also those at the South end nearest
the river village. I have authorized Mr. Joel
Jones to make anyone of my 75 acres at
page 2
(Coneatt) as to improving next season as far as
lots remain unsold. I think he may have
some ideas on the allotment & which may
be of advantage when done-he being on the
spot & having perhaps made some calculations
as to their situation & applications for lots.
I think Mr. Jones' ideas a consultation with
him on the subject would be proper and of use in
my behalf & no doubt
a gratification to him as he calculates to make
a selection of a lot or more & to reside there if
he finds the place to suit him as to business &
I notice the sale of Lot 35 in J Randolph at $6
per acre which
I consider a fair price & in fact better than I
expected
notwithstanding it is so well situated.
As to the deed from [?] Hunt, it will be made
& sent on as soon as one can be made by all of
us.
I wrote to you a few days since fearing that my
letter in closing the said draft might have
miscarried. In that letter it mentioned that
should Mr. Jones call on you for any monies
of my own individual monies or of W. L.S. own
individual monies, please let Mr. J have as
far as he wishes & it be convenient to you
to spare. Mr. Jones may not call on you for
monies, but in case he should I have said to
him that he can have by calling on you on
my account as far as I have fund in
your hands. My brother W.L.S. & myself are
now waiting daily for [?] to go to the Black
River County, to be [?] from four to Five

or six weeks. Should you have occasion to write
either of us please continue your directions of letters
to us at this place. With respects to
Mrs. E Yours Respectfully

P.S. I shall call on Mr. Josef Stocking for a Power
of attorney for allotment of Land in Madison
& sale thereof if I d not purchase his part
or make division of it with him. LGS
I think [?] ought to be put in a way of being
begun upon.
