Circa 1870s green daywear 2-piece dress with bustle, twill petticoat, and separate bodice with front and back tails. Six single-row buttons down the front of the right proper chest. Four vertical rushed ruffles along the front of hips, knees, and hem. Rushed ruffle trim along the edge of tails following vertically down the middle of the chest sections and back shoulder blades. polonaise effect achieved by black twill tapes. Pleated ruffle trim collar with additional trimming. "France, Jameson" on the tag. Frances Hoyt Jameson of Warren (1852-1935) was the mother of Francis Hapgood, whose dress is also in the collection. It could have possibly been worn for her wedding in 1873.
A hat was also found that is currently located in storage marked with the same number. The assumption is that this hat goes to that dress.Collection
