"Elyria Sept 25th 1868
F. Kinsman Esq
Dear Sir-
On Saturday last I returned
to you by mail a deed for Champlain Smith to have
seals put on- I now find on examination of the power
of attorney given you by R. S. Baldwin + wife that there is
no mention of any land in Lot 20 in Troy- The power of Atty
specifies 199 35/100 acres in Lot 19 + 165 79/100 acres in Lot 10 and
refers to the deed given to Emily Baldwin which I have exam-
ined and the description of which I find to be the same as
in the (mortgage) power of attorney Mr Smith employed one of our attorneys to examine
the title to the land and on the examination discovered these
facts. Mr Smith objects to taking his deed until the matter is
made straight
Respectfully Yours
Herman Ely Jr
R. S. Baldwin Esq
Dear Sir You will see by the above
that there is an error in your wifes deed
from her Brother Lot 10 instead of 20 can you
not get a quit claim from them to make
all right + forward it to me for record
