Letter addressed to Abigail Goodsill of Canfield, Trumbull County, Ohio from Betsey M. Fitch of Warren.
Warren, September 13, 1833
Dear Sister,
We have been wishing to see you and Mr.
Smith, Lucy Ann, and the Children, here this week but
suppose the soreness of your hands prevented your
coming, will it not be so that you can come next
week and spend the whole of it or longer if consistent
we all wish you to come, and shall feel very sorry not
to have Lucy Ann and her husband spend some time with
us I should liked to have been at Canfield while she
is with you but you are all so much occupied
with sickness and taking care of the sick that (?)
I would not add to your cases and another thing
has prevented (?) Mr. Fitch cannot leave the bank
a day and one of our Horses is lame, and Laura has not
been well since Lucy Ann was here she has had the
ague in her breast 4 or 5 times since she was here yest
er day she could not sit up but a little to day she is better
do-do come if possible. Sister Lucy and Laura send a
great deal of love to all of you and say you must not
disappoint us. How is Anna Maria I feel anxious to how
she gets along I hope Sister Polly will spend all the time
She possibly can with her, young persons like her want
watching very closely for a number of weeks at least
Give my love to all our Friends in Canfield that you see
I cannot enumerate, with love to Mr. Goodsitt hoping he
is better And to Mr. Smith Lucy Ann and dear Child
I remain your affectionate Sister Betsy M. Fitch
