Photograph showing a diorama of the Hall Flying School with a red & silver model airplane and a cream model car in front of it.
Back of photo: Ernie Halls Standard model J-1. Model
built & introduced early 1918 as a plane
for pilot training for WWI. These models
were initially powered with Curtis OX-5's
90hp, or Hall-Scott 6 cyl. in line, about
100 hp. My first ride was in this plane
when it was powered with the OX-5
in 1927. Early flights for this plane, olive
drab color was at King's field on Niles-
Cortland Rd. at E. Rever Rd. (model)
