The hat is black with a bow located underneath the wide flexible brim. A label on the inside indicates that the hat was designed by Lilly Dache. Labels are similar to those found in the 1950s and early 1960s.
The hat was owned by Helen Hart Hurlbert, president and publisher of the Warren Tribune Chronicle; Hurlbert took control of the paper in 1936.Acquisition
