Letter to Aaron Keen from John Ratliff
Howland May 17th, 1865
Mr. Keen Dear Sir
After taken some advice, and
upon reflection I am of the opinion that it would do
no good but on the contrary harm, to push this business
of your verry fast- I think whoever settles that estate
will meet with some opposition. If I undertake to
do it I would wish to have time to see and talk with
Mr. Taylor so that I can have a fair start
The money to be collected will be going to you
The money John sent home and in the
hand of other People will go to his Brothers
and Sisters William (?) Child will get one
equal care with the others Should this
not be anything more than I know of at
present I will act as administrator
When you write Direct to Warren
Yours with respect John Ratliff"Acquisition
