Oct. 14, "44" Sat. 11:36 A.M. Dear Jeanie, I received your letter in today's mail & was glad to hear from you. I certainly was surprised to hear that you did not take Jimmy with you. You that I know I will have to go and see him. Yes, Jean, I do think Chuck is doing (to) much, but then if had acted right in the very beginning this would never have to be happening. In a way I have no sympathy for him although I still love him very much.I guess I am a sap, at least that is what I am told. Did you know J.B. Masteller? We'll he is home on leave. He goes back. Sun.nite. I was glad to see him. He called me up & kept teasing the daylights out of me. He wouldn't tell me who he was & he was the last person I expected to hear from. He came in twice Fri & I got to talk to him. He came in about 3:45 & left right way because Chuck told him, Thur, that we would be out right after work & we all could spend the evening together, but as it turned out Chuck did not stop after work nor was he in all evening. I got cleaned up (like he asked) at 4:00 & waited until 8:30 & then I went to bed. about 9:30, J.B. came in to see me. He certainly was surprised to learn about Chuck & I. But I didn't tell him anything although I think he just about knows. I still haven't seen or heard from C. You would think he could at least call. I am beginning to wonder again. Oh Jean I just (dont) know what to do. I tried so hard, but to no avail I guess I think I might just as well give up & (thats) prett hard to do. I have been feeling awful ill this past wk or more. Maybe that accounts for the mood I am in. When I am with him things seem so different, but then that isn't very often. I guess I had better stop writing. You won't like this letter I'm afraid but then I don't have anyone to talk to since you have gone. So you will have to be content with letters like this one once in a while. I got a letter from Johnny. He is still O.K. but does not expect to come home for a long time at least not till spring. Your letter only took 4 days to get (hear). That's good. Judy had a birthday last Thur. Glenna came & Chuck said he would & dinner was a 7. We made it that late so he could make it but he did not show up (until) 9:20. He had to go home to bed & get his rest. His mother thought he (wasnt) getting enough sleep. So he went home. Please write soon & often.I will make it a point to see Jimmy & give him your love. Love, Bettie
