Dear Jean,
I know it is awful that
I haven't written sooner, but
really I have been so busy.
Harold N. got home on the
3rd, and Harold L. arrived
home on the 4th and we
have been on the go all the time since he arrived
home.
Harold L. went back this
morning so we won't be
so busy from now on.
Ruthie went back with him.
She plans on being there
about 2 weeks.
Harold L. still is the same
person but was so thin.
He lost all that fat he put
on. He looked better though
when he left. He should
seems all we did was eat-
In fact, we had three big
meals this week. One at Aunt
Lenoris, one at our place, and
last night at McFarland's/
Last Sat. nite, we went on
a big binge. Georgie Law went with us too. We had a big
start before we even left Uncle
George's. Then we stopped at
the Blue Crystal and from there
went to the Moose Lodge in
Youngstown. They have a real
nice place to dance and a
fairly nice orchestra. Nelson &
I sure had fun dancing.
We all had a good time until
Sunday rolled around. I
wasn't good for anything
all day long. Dad said I had
a hang over, but that wasn't
true. I was just all tired
out or just too lazy to move.
Tuesday we went to Youngstown.
Mom got a new coat. It is
some shade of blue. Just can't
describe it. I got a coat too.
Only I bought mine last
Sat. I got a black chesterfield.
Tht is what mom wanted
but they just didn't look
right on her.
We had Jimmie for awhile.
Got him on Wed., the 4th of Oct.
Nelson and I even took him to
Youngstown with us. We stayed
all night down there on Fri.
night. He sleep with us.
Didn't work out too badly.
He sure was having a good
time. He is such a good
little boy. Everyone likes him.
We got him two new suits.
One is dark blue with a
yellow tag and a blue collar.
He looks really cute in it.
The other is a real light
blue. It's cute on him, too.
We took him back on Sat.
nite. He didn't want to go
but I couldn't do anything else.
He kept saying Bot, not to go to
Mary's but we took him
anyway. Jerry was down there,
and she took him for a walk
so he didn't have a chance
to see us go. I just hate to
leave him when he is crying.
I would get him but we are
just too busy.
Today, our sewer stopped
up outside. So we had to go
get a fellow to come and
empty the cess pool. He is
coming tomorrow morning.
You didn't know I found
carpet beetles in my rug.
They are similar to moths, but
are a little worse. So I'm
trying to fight them. I guess
one can get rid of them
if one keeps right after the
little devils.
Nelson is trying to paint the
house. We have everything
going at once. I don't see
how we will get done but
he thinks we will.
Wilbert is in France now.
He said he went thru Paris
so he must be up in
there somewhere. Wilma said
he seemed to like it alot
better.
Gerald went back to work.
He is learning to be a welder
at the Warren Mfg. Co.
Dad went back to work, too.
This is his second week at
work. He seems to be standing
it good. Better than we thought
he would.
Well, I'll close for now. I
know this is an awfully
scribbled up mess, but I'm
writing in bed and every 5 mins
Nelson moves. And that's not
good. Write to me now
Love from a sister,
Audrey
