Dear Jean,
Hello darling. I had these wonderful letter from you
today. I love you honey. Your letters are worth a million dollar
to me. The last letter I had was the 6-Nov so they are
slowly creeping up on me. Well honey thing are still on the
bad side of life as it been for the last eighteen month. Things here in
China are not very good. These great men of our [sur]
sticking [there] necks out and are going to get in trouble.
It certainly not the enlisted men idea. I got
so it make no different. I love you very much.
but thing are so mix up in my mind. The war ending
was a wonderful thing, but still it makes no different. If
this was a division of occupation it would be different, but
it is not but yet we could come home. No is the word. You
men are needed is the old standby. This harbor is full
with ships, transport, A.P.A., K.A.-L.S.V and so on. Can't
understand it, really can't, but maybe thing will change
I hope.
Honey, in your letter you try to explain you
do love me. I understand, Jean, how you feel. I
feel twice that way. I guess in one of my letter
I get the blues and started asking you thing in that line. I
waiting on the day to come when we be together again
ones [once] more. I know for a fact thing will never be like
it was. It wasn't too bad, but I was a different person
than I am at the present. I trying so hard to kept the
faith about coming home, but boy there is so many men
ahead of me it get a person pretty unhappy. I read your
letter and they eat my heart out for you. I could really
break down and have a good cry. I long for you all. It
tough thinking of the future. I stop this crying and
talk about other thing.
I glad to hear Harold and his family are
O.K. I hope they are very happy. Harold was in
the service a long time. He should be happy ever
sec. of the day. So Wilbert when back at the store.
I glad to hear that he plenty contented. I going to
break down and write to him. I feel very guilty about
not writing "dad & mother". I love them very much, Audrey
and the rest of the family
but they understand, don't they, honey? I hope the family
happy, honey. There is so much to this world, and we
have the best part of it. A loving country to live in
and so many good people there. If some people could
see and live like these people it would be a better
world. It a strange world, honey, lot of strange people in
it. These strange people are in the services too. We
have fellows like I told you before, that the world
owes them a living. They think that G-I- Bill of Rights
will get them anything they want. It a shame they really
don't stop and think the situation over. I really don't blame
some of these guys getting a very raw deal, but yet,
like you say, it will end sometime soon "I hope". WHat
I hear of discharging men, you can only wear your
uniform so long, and from there on your a civilian so
they are back in the shoe again. Competition is all over
the place, and the G.I. Bill of Rights aren't really going
to do what they expect. So they find out it the same
world and it really doesn't give a damn if they was
in a dozen army or other services. I think if a
man forget everthing and do his best they will be
better. I great plans for us, Jean. I don't know how
are money is low. I know HaHa. But still,
honey, are love is very great, and things will be
nice. Gee, honey, a nice evening with you right
now I give a million dollar for it, and I
do remember the evening and day at L.A. How
can I forget it. I about go nut thinking about them. We
have had fun. And so much ahead of us. I thank
the good Lord I married you, honey. You so lovely and
such a great woman, and that means lot now day. Good
woman is hard to find, and that all any man can
ask out of life. I had such a wonderful dream of you
the other night. I could see you so plain and I was
so glad to see you. Your legs I can still see, a
white pair of shoes and no stocking. Gee, honey, that always
did make me very "hot" just to look at them. It
been so long since I see you and just to hold you.
I would just love, music, and you and I could
make my heart very happy. Gee, honey, it won't be
long I know. I pray in the evening it will come
soon. Just to meet you at the train station I
faint I know. Honey, on my leave if you call it that,
I never forget walking in to that home of our and by the
way it a shame we don't have it now and what a good
feeling it gave me and and at night, boy, what a fool I was. Being
in that boot camp I got so sleeping and the time I
wasted I could kick myself. Honey, I could just go nuts
thinking of you. I like to touch your skin and feel
your hair. You was always the best loving girl I ever
met. What a good kiss you are. I could cream in my Gs right
now. Let stop this. I can't stand it!!!
Talking about a little thing you mentioned about a
certain girl. I know how she is. I feel very sorry for her husband.
It really is a shame.
Honey, I hope to see you soon. Pretty good letter
for a change and tell the little boy I love him and
same to the rest of the family. Tell Nils I say hello and hope
he gives that good looking sister a good
loving. I love her and I am sure he can take care
of it. I hope you like the package I send and by the
way I send it a few days ago and hope it get there
by Christmas. I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and
hope to be at the next one. The package I told you
about I having got the thing I want yet so it will
be a little longer then I plan before I send it. The
robe I hope you like it. I love you darling and
the picture of myself I hope they pleased you. I
see you soon. All my love, Love Russ
P.S. Excuse so many mistake. Still not a good
writing after so many days of writing.
