Dear Jean,
Well, honey, here a letter again. Well, honey I been
in this marine core one year today. This time last
year I was pretty much of hurry to get this marine
core but I guess you realize it [alot] different
now. Then it was then. I certainly wish I could
spend a little of that with you. In fact,
all the year would suit me very nice.
"Maybe" next year I will spend it with you.
I received a letter from mother and you
yesterday. Was glad to hear from you. So Harold and
Ruth is going to have a baby. That good news. I
hope it as sweet as the little one is, Jean. You
were telling me about [?] baby or little girl which
it is, I don't know but it burns me up when
you said the girl comes over and hit & scratch Jimmy.
I certainly glad Jimmy is a gentleman and he don't
" deck her on the floor". I guess you realize I pick
that little one up and spank her little bucket, to
try to stop that little mix up right at the present.
Well, Jean, the censorship lifted a little
but the other day, and we are permitted to tell
where we came from. You all ready know but
it was the canal so I tell with my own word we
when from the canal to the a island just
a little way from the island of Okinawa. I
forgot how to spell it but we just stay there
for a few day. It was just a meeting place.
The canal was not a bad place. Some
of the fellow had some pictures of natives. They send
when they get them. I will send you some.
Certainly a dead place. In fact, all these
island a man could go crazy easy as
falling off the roof.
Jean, it certainly is getting me, being
away from you that all we do is talk
about home how nice it would be to be
home. I certainly wish it would end all
the time. Jean, I think of you. Gee, honey, I love you so. I wish I could say just
how much, but [are] day is coming, not far from
now, Jean.
Well, Jeanie, I close now. Thing are
still the same here. It won't be long until
it over with. I love you, darling. Be a
good wife.

P.S. Jean, I hate to ask you, but it been so long
since I been [pay]. I could use some money for
stamps and so on so drop me some money in a letter.
