Dear Jean,
Well, honey, you can blame the writing to you on the
post office. It was out of stamp and I sure wasn't going to send
a letter "free". I am sorry, honey. I believe the last time I
wrote was the 1st. I am not sure. I waited on stamps
until today. I send some cards out this morning and [droping]
you this letter this afternoon.
I am really not in a good mood this
day. I got guard duty four until 8 and from the
same hours in the morning so you can see I am rushing
this letter, eat chow at 3:15 and it about two o'clock right
now.
Gee, honey, I don't believe the day will ever
come when I get to come home. I so darn lonesome and
blue. Nobody is leaving here. We have a few once
in awhile but it doesn't count. I thought the points
system would drop this month but not as yet. It
doesn't matter anyways. We have so many guys
with these points and they are still here. So I guess
I don't have much to [grip] about. I suppose you
think all my letters are all [grips] but it all we
do so it hard to quit I guess, but well he - maybe
we have the right to [grip], no mail for at least
five days. The last letter was the [?] 18th I
believe I could check up but it really doesn't
matter, Honey, I stop this and talk about something
else. [Evertime] I write letter I try
to kept that part out but it gets in somehow.
Honey, did you get all the pictures I send
you? I hope you like them. I think you should have
all of them by now but, if the mail is like it
is here, I don't know. I hope you get the package
and hope the robe is suitable. I can't really tell. The
package I am making up isn't quite [finish]. It
will be in time, and I believe you will like
the present in it. I love you, darling, as I told
you before, but only trouble is. I just write it
out instead of telling in to you like I would like
to. Maybe some day I be able to tell you, honey,
I don't know when. Can't even guess when
I will get home. I pray it soon. I got to
close now. I am enclosing a Christmas card,
not very nice, but it the nearest thing I could find
