Fri night
Dearest Jeanie,
Just a few lines to let you know
that we're all fine & I hope this letter
finds you the same. Don't have any
thing to do tonight so I better drop you
a few lines. The kids all are in bed
sound asleep. Gee, my house looks so
pretty & clean. I really am proud of
it. Every thing is just in perfect order.
Dad is lounging in the chair having a
sleep. Jerry's play is tonight & Mrs. Lane
called me and asked me if we
would go along but we couldn't on account
of the kids & and I'm sure Jerry will understand
the situation. She didn't call until late.
Dick Gilbert is in Calif. now in the Hospital,
but I don't know just where. Gee, I wish
you could get to see him. Next weekend
Nettie, Aunt Helen, Frances & Margaret &
I are supposed to go to Cleveland for the
17th to visit with Aunt Agnes but
I don't know whether I'll go or not
yet. I hate the [thoughs] putting up with
Margaret for 2 days as far as the
rest, I don't mind them. Gee, I hate her.
Her & Kent were out last Fri night.
Gee, they sure burnt me up, but I had
to put up with it for your [dads']
sake. You know relations. Grandma
& [Granpa] were out this evening & Audrey
& Mrs. Law came down, too. Dusty was
sick & Dad took him to the doctor's &
he said he had Distemper, and he is
to have medicine 3 times a day. I guess
he'll be alright though. Gee, I had
company all day today. I don't know
how I ever got my work all done in
time. Gee, Sunny sure is a devil. She
doesn't mind Rosalee one darn bit. Why
Jimmie is a little angel compared to
her. She just won't be still one minute.
If she was mine I spank her bottom
good & hard. All she does is bawl all
day long for nothing. She broke
Betty's coffee table today. I don't know
what she thought of that. Well, Jean,
I'll close for now because it's getting
near bed time. Goodnight for
now
Love,
Mary
