Letter addressed to "Dear Aunt" from Wolcott. Dated Ravenna, March 1837(4?)
"Ravenna March 5 1834
Dear Aunt
I read your letter
this eve. I shall write the Doct
to-morrow. In regard to my will
I made it before I left _____
It is all made to you excepting
$200. which I give to cousin Sally.
I cannot come over at present.
I am about to make arrangements
for business in Ravenna and think
it will succeed and if so you can
still have chances enough to see
me. I cannot send you any money
at present. I told you how I was
situated and when the draft I spoke
of to you comes I will send you
some. And if it does not come I
shall have to borrow to go east with.
I have got just money enough to
take up the note of Jacksons and this
I shall be minus. You may
think by Doc Sanfords letter I have
money but I have not what I have
is in notes. I lent a man $200.
the next day after I had got my
business settled up and he promised
to pay me before I came West and
when I was ready to come he couldent
pay me and promised to send it
to me and has not yet.
I appreciate your kindness to me and
am willing to do all I can but you
can see how I am situated.
my regards to all
