"Warren O, Thurs June 21st, 83,
Alexander Hutchinson Esq-
Dear Sir-
Your letter
came duly to hand & we are sorry
that the tax business is such a mix-
ed state. When there is not one cent
due I will, in as few words as pos-
sible - give you an outline of the transac
tions since the property came into our
hands - the property was conveyed to
Fanny A. Smith by George Nappert
in the year about, 69, or 70 we have not
the Deed at hand & it may have been
as late as the year, 72- Out the 29th
of September 1873- an undivided half-
or one equal undivided half was
transferred to Ira L Fuller for the
benefit or in trust for HOrace Stevens.
recorded books 12 page 278-
there is also a quick claim Deed for
1/2 the property to Mary B Fuller
- recorded March 11th 1880 volume 18
page 158 - also A mortgage given
by F. A. Smith to Mary B. Fuller
recorded in volume 8 or page
357. I enclose tax receipts & if
necessary we will send letters & -
to prove our claim that we owe no
taxes but that there being these ...
for they have got it separated &
assess it twice & we think we think
the treasurer's office of Posey Co. a
fair field for investigation -
We hope you will with very little
trouble be able to commence the offense
against his will that he is in the
wrong & will make amends
Very Respectfully"Location
