Gentlemen:-
Enclosed find order for One
Type B Peerless Mixer Tmo Bavrell at
$579.00 for the Masters Daugherty Co. of
Warren Ohio. Arrived at Tus as follows:
Price of New Machine 754.00
Allowance on old Mach 175.00
Balance 579.00
Mr. Daugherty who gave the order not
only stated on what terms he would
do business but had a copy of an
order at his desk that the Triumph
salesman had made out for him to
sign and he said we could take it
or leave it. You will notice that
I wrote in 5% less for cash in 15 days
after delivery. That was the only way
they would sign it. He was very
testy about the whole matter and
there was no argument as he just
simply waved everything aside and said
that was the only way they would
place the order.
After talking to you over the
telephone I called him and told him
that it was confirmed and will you
kindly do the same from the office.
They will be in the market for
a moulder in may or June and
say they will give us first chance at
the business if this deal proves satisfactory
I enquired of four Banks here and
at each place they said that Mr. Daugherty
had the cleanest record of any business
man they knew and that his word was
good for anything that he wanted.
One bank went so far as to say that
they would take his plain note for $100,000.00
and they all said sell him anything
that I could.
Gunlefinger & Kingensmith of the
Federal Bakery want packing shipped
immediately for Type B 1 ½ Bbl Mixer. as per
my order over the phone so has been made
New System Bakery- Mr. Jeffers owner
went into the hands of the receiver here
on Tuesday off list
Could do nothing with International
Baking Co. on Moulder because one
partner is in hospital. They will not
talk business until he is out
