"Monday
Since writing yesterday I have seen
your letter to Porter and think you
made him an excellent offer better perhaps
than is best, considering the small payments
dribbling along through a _____ of yours.
I believe almost any man who should
live on the place a year and learn its
conveninces would realize its worth as
I do and cheap at three thousand
but do as you think best, but would
recommend not to commit yourself for
a week or two. Mr Ray wants to leave
the ridge and has been trying to get the
Merwin property here. Now for the kind
of business he is dooing I should think
my place would suit him where he
could have summer parties as well
as winter parties and dispose of all the
small fruits he was a mind to _____
to good advantage suppose you
sound him"Location
