Mrs. Fanny A. Smith
[?], Wisconsin
Dear Madam:
I expect to
remove with my family to
Ohio about the first of
June next and in view of
this I render you herewith
a final account of my
agency concerning your property here. I have collected
the rent of the house for this
year ending April first
1882, and in chargeable
with the amount to-wit $100.00
I am entitled to credit
as follows:
For amt sent you by [?]
Nov 1st 1881 $50.00
for fence & repairs as per his
receipt enclosed $44.30
Tax (state lev.) paid receipt enclosed 2.45
Tax (city) paid
Balance returned for postage
Total credit $100.00
I am sorry to inform
you that there is delinquent
tax against the property yet
unpaid as follows:
State levy tax $13.24
City tax 14.53
I knew nothing of this until
a few days since: It seems
that Mr. Stevens transferred
one half of the property in 1880
to Mrs. M. B. Fuller and this
tax being assessed against her
entirely escaped my notice
I supposed I was paying
on the whole of the property
which stood in the name
of Ira L. Fuller, although
I knew that the [?]
was defective.
The property is rented to
a good tenant at $100.00 per year
payable quarterly. The repairs
made are substantial and
were absolutely necessary.
I regret exceedingly
that I can give you no
better account of the busi-
ness.
You may perhaps
know some one over here to
whom you wish to entrust
the care of the house & collec-
tion of rents. If so I shall
be pleased to explain to him
the situation of the whole
affair before I leave.
Very truly your friend
