L. Hicks c/o Evergreen Lodge wanting to know about Funeral arrangements. I answered by Ohio phone Sistem. that I knew it was Father's wish that he would like the lodge to have charge of his Funeral and other affairs. so I told Mr. Hicks to take charge of Funeral and affairs, and I would try and get to Calif at once. but soon found out it would take a week or to. Either by plane or R.R. to get transportation so sent a Air Mail Letter. Explaining traveling conditions. And yesterday about noonetime. the phone rang. answered and here was H L Hicks from Calif on the wire. saying he had not received and word from me in answer to his telegram, and wanted to know what to do. So I explained everything by phone. He said he would have the funeral 1 pm today. That would be 4 pm our time here. I had made arrangements with my tenants to come home and look after the place - for 2 or 3 weeks as I had wrote Jackson I would see him sometime from Nov. 1 to Thanksgiving time.
