This is a photograph of the original painting. Written on the back:
"Nancy (Anna) Bishop Perkins, wife of General Simon Perkins. This portrait was painted by Allen Smith of Cleveland about 1845, presumably after the death of General Simon. It hung at 128 Mahoning Avenue (now the Warren City Hall) until 1930 when it was inherited by Mrs. Russell Wilson of Cincinnati (great-granddaughter of Mrs. Nancy Perkins.) Mrs. Wilson later (in the 1960s) gave it to the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland. Somewhat later it was lent to Western Reserve University and hung there for a time at least in the office of the President of the University, together with Allen Smith's copy of the Waldo & Jewell portrait of General Simon."
