My dear Seneca,
Your letter came last
night and I intended a letter
to be on its way to you before this.
I've written letters to Aunt Mim
and Esther. Papa went to Troy
to day to meet Aunt Mim. May
be home tomorrow or may not come
until Fri. Tis raining hard to
night. Wilson washed the buggy
this morning. Of course it must
surely rain. Well, there are only
four of us here to night. Bill
sent up some codfish to day
knowing Papa was gone. So T,
E, and I had a feast for our
supper. Wilson does not partake.
Sat. We sent your thing to
Warren by Mr. Harshman. They
are left at Brackins store. The
statistics you are to look for
are only Gustavus township.
He thought he told you
what or intended to. I'm so glad you
are pleased with your school.
Truman saw Keith C. Sunday. He
said he saw a man from town there
saying they were very much pleased
with both you and your school.
Will send you the last Well Spring
but the secretary ordered Cooks
lessons helper. Supposing we were
methodists, and your father
thought you would not care
for one. In one of Aunt Mim's
letters she asked if you could
not come home before she went
to Mich. I do not know how soon
she will go. O yes, Harry went
to Buffalo yesterday. [?Earl]
went, also Ralph, Myerell Clisby,
Eph. Bender and some from
K went as the flyers. Afraid
Harry will not enjoy the crowd.
Mrs. Rumins was over yesterday
and washed done some other
work for me. Will see about
your papa's business when Papa
gets home. Also will try to sell
those books. For how much
less would you want to let
them go for than the regular
price. I want to get all we can
for them. I should not sell
them at to great a sacrifice.
We think if you are suited
with your boarding place
and all things, you had better
stay even tho you pay pretty
high. I want you to have good
fare and good accomodations.
Thurs morning. Still raining.
Rained all night. The boys
[?] of the drive down and
came home at noon to feed
the pigs. Papa will be
home today. Wilson has been
hankering for that book you wanted
and does not find it. Says tell
you he knows he saw it in your
trunk. I sent him to look those
things over you left but did not find it.
Will look some more tho.
Enclosed is that $1.00 and the twenty
cents in stamps. They are ready.
With best of love for my boy.
I can hardly wait for your letter.
Your mother A. E. Partridge
