My dear Seneca,
Thought you would
like a few words from home tomorrow
so will write and have
the boys mail to night when
they go to the shadow social.
Rec’d your letter Thursday night.
Your father says maybe we will
get word you are coming home.
Come when you want to us. It
will not cost you any more then
to day. You can at least come
once in two weeks. Glad to
hear you have such backing
in your school. I presume the
parents and some of them need
the hose took to them instead
of the children. If you only keep
well. You must go to bed early
and on no account sit up late
to study or read as you have
done before when away. I have
missed you so much. Elmer
going last week and you this
week has made me blue. Truman
has been home yesterday and to
day. They are making bucketts.
I tell you the young man just
turns around and orders his
father right out to business. I
think Wilson just as soon stay
out as not tho he says Deihl is
very gracious to him.
Mon eve. Carrol Sheldon came
up after Wilson to go down to
Berthas to play flinch. They they
went down to see Elmer and
asked him to get into his boots
and go and get the preachers
girls and bring Ella along for
Deihl (as he had to attend the
board meeting) so with the four
couples they had a nice time at
Bertha’s. Carl and Jennie were
not invited to the dance. The
M.E. convention was at town
hall Wed PM and eve. They say
the Knapp family all went but
Pearl, and Bessie says Elmer was
down to keep fires for her.
Papa has $31 on his paper for
Mrs. Mullicks. Yesterday was the
sewing bee at Frank Halls
and Aunt Mim, Nellie and I
tied a comfortable for her here
at home. Aunt M furnished the
covering and Papa got the batting.
I have mad two little skirts for
the little girl, some flannel I had.
They rather expect to move to [?Hedduks].
Bell was feeling quite a little better
yesterday. O yes Wilson got 8 ½
dollars at Farmdale Monday. Pretty
well we thought. So very cold
he did not go only around the
dale. Lemuel is plodding up
and down the road nights and
mornings. The little Caine boy
told at school that after they
were married he hugged and
kissed her to beat the band.
Eve. Your letter rec’d to night.
Glad to hear you are well,
are getting along, and are
so well protected. Keep cool and
be as patient as possible. The
boys are almost ready. Truman says
tell you the bucketts leaked
and all but the evaporator
worked. Good by with best
of love. Come next week.
Love Your mother
