Gustavus June 13th 1901 My dear Seneca, It is sunday evening again and I have no letter ready to send. I would first love to know how you are to- night. There are so many around sick with colds and grippe but I do hope you are well. Pleas do not sit up late nights or get up so early mornings to study. Remember it will wear on you if you do not feel it now. I went with Papa to the Grange oyster supper last Thurs night. Mrs. Gray told me that Frank Johnson told her he was afraid Seneca would do himself out. Thought you worked to hard. Now listen to your mothers warnings and be careful. Well I went to church this morning. The roads were horribly rough. Did not think it a very good time for me but they all wanted me to go. All but Elmer went. He has not been feeling very well for a few days. Feels better today not so very merry but- Church meeting this week fri Pm. Alex and Merta came home with us. She went home with a cold and was not coming back to- night. Wilson and Truman have gone Union Meeting at our church tonight. Expect they will be late home tonight. Glad you went to Troy last week. Had a nice time I presume. How has that fiddle come on. Hope its owner will be a pleasant room mate for you and is your board still good? We do not want you today where there is not good substantial food for you even if it be cheeper. Have you missed your gloves. I will mend them and send to you. I found them in the desk drawer. Dr. Callahan and wife have left town. Gone to Monroe Ash- tabula Co. Reported that Dr. S has bought him out but it is said by some not. It would be a nice place for him to sell his gray ain’t he a beauty he looks so sheepish. hardly looks up by the way. What is your fiddler’s name? Well, guess I will have to go to bed. I am getting nerves. Good night Monday morning Dear Seneca, Mamma thought she had not time to write. Who is your parman? Ask him if he knows anything about L.R. (Lem) Eckels- what he is doing. We had a thaw up last week. But it is fairly solid and quite hubby this morning. The boys say Hine had a new girl last night. C.
