Hope this will Gustavus, Nov 30th My dear Seneca, The boys have gone to Liberty. Your Father gone down to Lemer on an errand, so I am not alone. He said he would not stay but as usual is changing. This has been a brighter day that we have been having back along. Last eve the boys were up at Mr. Waters to a social. Not a big crowd out. The road were very bad. They had popcorn and Mary Lyons to entertain them with her jolly ways. I think she must have had on her high heeled shoes. Next Fri eve they have an _______supper at town hall. They are hurrying to raise money to fix the church and get the pulpit and chairs. Bernice and her mother called here to night. She is begging grub she said. Well, Thanksgiving went all right here. Only you and Aunt N were missing. We had fifteen in all for dinner. The Lanes, Mr. and Mrs. St. John, and Mr and Mrs Whistler. We killed two young hen turkeys. They weighted 8 libs dressed. They were very fine. Had potato, turnip, biscuit, cranberry sauce, picle cabbage, cucumber picles, white cake, and hickory nut cake. Mrs. Whistler brought the butter, also celery, pie, and coffee. Nellie came up and helped me yesterday and Wed forenoon. Mrs. W helped me also about dinner so we got along nicely. I was very tired and felt pretty old to day. Have had the rem- nants of turkey today. Our girl went home Tues. Her mother thought she could not spare her any longer. Do not know as I care very much. It is pretty hard to do half of the work and have to run the other half. A letter from Aunt____yesterday She was so pleased over your letter. I am so glad you write, She seems to be enjoying her self very much. The Boys have come. Quite a decent crowd out but did not all respond as all those that were to take a post there. I wonder if you spent Thanks giving in Hiram. I thought of you so many times. We looked for a letter to night. Hope you got the check all right. Papa sent last Sat. I want you to get this tomorrow but cannot tell. Intended writing last eve but Billy Lavill and Nellie stayed the evening.
