Print of Simon Perkins homestead with writing on the back.
"Painting of the Simon Perkins house which probably stood about where the Warren CIty Hall does now (1972). This painting hung in the dining room at 128 Mahoning Avenue for many years. In 1930 it was inherited by Watson Smith and Elizabeth Smith Wilson of Cincinnati. It now (1972) belongs to Watson Smith and hangs in his home in Tucson, Arizona. The painting is actually a little longer than this photograph - a few trees were cut off to make the reproduction easier.
The picture of the Perkins homestead in Howe's History of Ohio (vol. II, page 675) is somewhat different. The house is seen "head on" and a fairly large building, probably General Perkins office, is shown the side. The trees are less luxuriant and varied in the Howe picture. There are two women and four children in the latter."Acquisition
