"Joey Salcone, popular Warren amateur lightweight home on leave from the Merchant Marine, sends Jackie Rose of Rochester, Pa., to the canvas for a count of nine with a sharp left jab to the jaw early in the fourth round of their semi-windup bout on Thursday night's All-Star card at the Warren Skating Rink.
After the bell sounded at the end of the round, Rose ran into Salcone's right and was knocked out. He was unable to come out for the fifth and Salcone was declared the winner by a technical knockout. May 2, 1946"
