Elzaida Viets's (1840-1875) black velvet capelet with lace collar and pink lining. Elzaida was the first wife of the Orville Daken Viets, who was the grandfather of the Vietz sisters, who donated their belongings upon their deaths to the Cortland-Bazetta historical society. She herself was descended from the early Connecticut settlers, such as William Jones, who settled in Ohio before 1813.Collection
