Description

"Coach Heinie Beck (center) brushes off the attempt of an over-zealous spectator (left center) to influence him to leave the field during the most dramatic moment of Friday night's game between Warren and Niles. Len Corbin, not shown above, had just been laid low in an uncalled-for attack by Niles left guard Jim DePasquale. Beck and Assistant Coach L. Joy Kemp (right center with back to camera) rushed out on the playing field when they saw DePasquale deliberately hit Corbin several times after the All-Ohio Warren star had been brought down by a host of Niles players following a 12-yard gain thru the Niles line. Expressions of anger and disgust that mark the faces of Warren players shown at the right are not visible in this engraving of a photograph snapped by Tribune cameraman Harold Byland. Warren players shown are Lee Dunkerton (between Beck and Kemp), Chico Graham and Jack Rogers (at far right). At the left several Niles players watch the action. DePasquale was thrown out of the game for his deliberate assault."
