Mr. thorns came to California in the early 1850s, he was superintendent of the butterfield stage coach with their office located about where the Togni stationary store now stands. He was later manger of the palace hotel. Thorns was born at Fryeburg on the stage line between New Hampshire and Vermont on August 17th 1828Lexicon
