Description

This is the south end and east side of the Santa Fe depot at Visalia. The photographer is standing in the center of Santa Fe Avenue. The main track of the railroad is in the street. To the left can be seen the "house track" that served the loading dock at the depot. To the right can be seen rail cars loaded with feed ingredients for the Purina feed mill located out of the photograph. This view looks north. Rail passenger service to Visalia ended February 19, 1949. This service operated from Corcoran to Fresno via Visalia and Reedley.
