Photo of the Sonora Sierra Railway passenger station taken in early 1930's. Mr. & Mrs. T. A. Winn living in the upper floor. Mr. Winn was the Sierra station agent. The oriental architecture of the station was adopted the Sierra Railway to match the architecture of the Neville Hotel. A large hotel which was then located at the Jamestown Railway station. The hotel was built and owned by Captain Neville, the prosperous owner of the Rawhide Mine. No additional stations were constructed using this architectural style. The Sonora was located on the opposite side of the railroad tracks from the County Hospital. The rear portion of the Sonora Post Office is now located on the former location of the Sierra Railroad station. This station was destroyed by fire.
