Relief Lake in July 1910, looking toward the Emigrant Pass area. d. Index card read, "Relief Lake in 1910 - July. Tuolumne County Cal. This shows the lake full and looking across it toward the Emigrant Pass country where the emigrants came down Summit Creek into lower Relief Valley and on up into Upper Relief Valley. Now this dam machinery was left to expensive to haul it out. In the near side on some of the old haul roads you can still see big rolls of cable some of it galvanized almost two inches thick. It was used for high line. Thee is a small locomotive buried in the dam. When it was hauled in they drug on its side by big teams of oxen. Francis Nelson 8/17/1996"
