Scope and Content

THIS IS A DUPLICATE ENTRY OF FILE #M13732 Pickering Lumber Company map. Tuolumne Block - Skunk Creek area. There is no label on the main line other than main line so I assume it is now the Pickering logging Railroad. Camp 39 is found on Deadnam's Spur on a ridge above Skunk and Reed Creeks. The Grading (Graiding) Camp is on the Flimming Spur On a fork of Bear Creek at the North end of the map. Camp 41is located on the Skunk Creek Spur in the Jawbone Creek drainage. The map only shows a small portion of the mainline, and all of the spurs depicted join the mainline off the map at points to the north. The map is important in that it shows all the planned spar tree locatiuons. Most are close to railroad tracks but some are up to 1300ft or so from the tracks. The Drainages being tapped were Bear Creek, Reed, Corral Creek, Skunk Creek and Jawbone Creek. A trail is shown running from the Crane (sic) S in the NE of the map to the SW near Femmon Meadow where it break into three destinations. One to Tuolumne, One to Granite Creek and one to Jawbone Ranger Station. Scale: 1 inch = 500 feet Location: Tuolumne County, Skunk Creerk Township/Range/Section: T2N R18E Secs 33, 34 T1N R18E Secs 3, 4, 8 to 10, 15 to 17
