Scope and Content

The mailine is now labeled W. S. Lbr. Co. The completed mailine travels from west to east across Skunk Creek up and then across Jawbone Creek to an end just short of mile post 59. Camp 40 is situated o0n the west side of Jawbone Creek. The Jawbone spur has its start west of Jawbone Creek also. About a mile upstrem it cross Jawbone Creek and ends. Surveys show it winding five mioles or more up to Little Jawbone Creek and well beyond. The mainline is surveyed to mile post 64 in Crane Creek drainage. The trackage is interesting in that the grade of the trackage is shown on the map The map shows a dirt road coming from Tuolumne heading to Woods Riodge Lookout and a fork going to Crane Meadow. A trail comes from Niagara Creek,from Tuolumne, and is labeled Lake Eleanor Trail. It splits in section 23, with one trail going to Crane Meadow and splitting there with one going to Jawbone Ranger Station and the other going to Lake Eleanor.
