Concord coach pulled by 4 horses along Washington Street. Writing on the side of the carriage reads, "US MA... [REMAINDER OF WORD OBSCURED BY DRIVER'S BOOT], SONORA, COLUMBIA, KNIGHTS FERRY, STOCKTON". Along the bottom of the carriage is written "OLD TUOLUMNE" in a stylized font. 3 people are visible seated within the carriage, smiling & waving. 4 people are seated up front & on top of the carriage. The driver has a cigar in his mouth, dressed in cowboy attire (hat, boots, gloves, button-up shirt with a kerchief). Behind and above the driver sits a man in similar attire, looking at the camera. To the left of the driver sits to women, in fancy dress. Both are smiling. Woman on far left is wearing a bonnet. Sonora Inn is in the background. Cars parked alongside the sidewalk in the background. People are visible on the sidewalk in the background. Appears to be an evening photograph with a flash as well as sunlight.
