Neg only (Ferington description)
There should be one negative per file. There were eight here. So I am splitting these up and making eight files. This file depicts the Standard freight station/warehouse. In Dorothy Newell Deane's book Sierra Railway, in the picture section between pages 70 and 71, there is a picture of the station at Standard. It shows a white block constructed building behind it just as in this negative. This picture shows two freight cars parked on tracks at the station. One is a box car, Pickering Lumber Corp. #209 on the short spur next to the station. The Pickering Lumber Corp #38 or 88 can't tell for sure which it is, but it is a flat is on the same siding next to the station as the boxcar.
This photo might be from 1950 to 1970 but, a man talking to another man has a suit that looks 1950's. There two other men talking at the road crossing , they are attired as workmen. Also a pickup truck is parked next to the white building and it looks to be an early 50's Chevrolet. (Rutty description)
