Description

Black and white photo of the Tuolumne City Depot. A man was caught entering the station office door. He's wearing slacks and a dark colored light jacket. There is a bay window arrangement with four windows. Two each at a 45 degree angle and the other two on the "Bay" side. There is a sign above the four windows proclaiming this location to be Tuolumne, elevation 2563 feet. The sign is light letters on dark background. It has become aged enough to become almost unreadable. To the left of the passengers entrance to the ticket office is a ramp up to the freight dock. At the corner of the building, to the right, under the eave, at about ten feet from the ground is a electrical box. A large one, the type that was usually used for switches in industrial areas. From there to the ground the wiring was in conduit. From the box up it was bare wire, (coated of course, just not in conduit)). It was suspended to close to the edge where it terminated in a light fixture. which had no bulb. To the right of the station can be seen the back half of a woody station wagon. At a guess its a late 1940's Ford. To the right of that can be seen another building made of logs. The logs have been formed to fit together at the building corners so that about a foot of pointed log ends fit together. I can see two windows in the wall facing the camera. The building appears well chinked with what was probably cement. Trees obscure any roof details. There is a playground beyond the log building and about seven children are seen playing some game there. Type: still camera Color: no
