Scope and Content

Map is an uncolor-coded map showing WSLC logging interests and ROW from vicinity of Camp 45 to Camp 44. Seems to be a copy from an original. (Kauppi description) A map displying the project timber boundries along with the transportation system so the men in the woods could see how the logs were supposed to go out to the mill. I think that the numbers in the circles are distances. In the case of the railroad the distance to the mill. In the case of the roads, the distance to the transfer landing where the trucks can dump their loads for transfer to the railroad. Since the railroad doesn't have a beginning per se I'll stqart enumerating the Camp from the nW corner of the map. In SE 1/4 section 4 T1N AR18E can be found Camp 39 on the Deadman spur. I suspect the spur was abandoned by the time the map was map. On south line of NE 1/4 section 2 T1N R18E is Camp 43. This would adjacent to Crane Creek. IOn the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 section 8 T1N R18E. In the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of section 13 T1N R 18E In the SW 1/4 of section 7 T1N R18E there was a transfer point. In approximately the center of section 14 T1n R18E there was a transfer point. In the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of section 8 T1N R18E was a transfer point. According to Allan Krieg, in "The last of the Three Foot Loggers" Camp 45 was used during the 1950 to 1958 time frame. (Rutty description) Scale: 1 inch = 1320 feet Location: Broken Porch, Corral Creek, Granite Creek, Cherry and Wilson Meadow Units Township/Range/Section: T1N R17E, T1N R18E, T1N R19E
