Scope and Content

Includes location of ROW, Tuolumne to River Bridge; includes land holdings as far east as Crane Meadow. (Art Kauppi description) This is an early map (1895 to 1905) with white ink on a blue paper on cloth backing, showing the terrain from the North Fork of Tuolumne River (west edge), to Cherry River (east edge). The only transportation system displayed are trails. One trail runs west from section 23 in the upper left corner to section 36 past Lake Eleanor in Yosemite National Park in the upper right corner of the map. That trail passes the Rosasco Ranch in the SE 1/4 of section 20, T2N R18E. That Ranch would be located In Reed Creek on the ridge formed by Niagara Creek and Reed Creek. At Crane Meadow in the Center of Section 36 is another Rosasco Ranch, which the trail services. The white on blue is easy enough to look at, but doesn't lend itself well to copying. The map shows details by feathering the slopes down to the drainage. This map is quite old as can be seen by the title used to identify the company. Plus there is no trackage shown on the map except: The map shows railroad line leading out from the mill at Tuolumne and showing a crossing of the North Fork of the Tuolumne River in section 25, T2N R16E The map also shows many mining claims around Soulsbyville and Mt Provo.and running straight south in a band to the Main Fork of the Tuolumne River. File #15031 is a duplicate of this one. (Rutty description) . Scale: 1/2 inch = 1 mile Township/Range/Section: T3N R18E, T2N R18E T2N R19E T1N R18 E
