Description

Columbia Livery Stable, George Mellen Trask, Owner. It is located at the southeast corner of Broadway and Fulton Streets in Columbia. Originally owned by Michael Kelly, it was purchased by Trask in 1888. Carriage storage and a washing rack were located in the back half of the main floor and additional stalls and hay were kept below. At the extreme left corner of the board and batten constructed building is a block of marble which fell off a wagon as it rounded the corner by the stable. The marble remained there for years, protecting the corner of the building. Chispa April-June 1988. Type: Paper
