Framed clipping from the May 11, 1944 edition of "The San Francisco News." Titled, "DESTROYER-ESCORT BUILT IN 23 1/3 DAYS," it briefly describes the quickl construction of the FIEBERLING by the Bethlehem Steel Company's San Francisco shipyard in just over three weeks.
It describes some of the ship's armament and duty as both an anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warship. It ends with a paragraph informing readers that this single yard built 380 ships in 1943, equivalent to 1,000 Liberty ships.Collection
