On 4 November 1945, the SLATER and her crew crossed the Equator for the first time at longitude 136°46'E. Lt. Cmdr. Colton P. Wagner participated in the day's event of going from a pollywog to a shellback.
This id card was presented to him after his successful completion of Crossing the Line. It does not appear that Davy Jones or Neptunis Rex signed the card. The reverse side includes more information about the location of the crossing as well as information about the ship's second crossing on 8 November.
