"Dear Mother,
I haven't had much chance to write but will every chance I get. You haven't written much either though.
Everything is fine and I like the ship. We will probably be gone for a while soon but back again before too long I hope. Don't worry about a thing.
I would like to go to Horse Pt. and eat some oysters with you all. Have you gathered a couple yet? Write me more often and take care of the balance of the family. Love & kisses Pete"
