T.N. Vail’s Mansion with only the north tower complete. Photo postcard dates from 1905. Construction of the north tower was completed in 1901. Construction of the south tower would not begin until 1907.: Vail Mansion as seen from the southeast. Note the small structure next to the tower with the peaked roof. As construction projects continued through Vail’s tenure in the house, this structure was all that remained visible of the original Bigelow farmhouse Vail purchased in 1883.
