Note

Bob Nugent (Born 1947) In 1971, Bob Nugent received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is currently a professor of art at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. Nugent's work is greatly influenced by his many trips to and experiences in South America. The memory of the forms in the landscape of the Amazon River Basin has made a lasting impression on Nugent. These metaphysical landscapes draw the observer in and out of the picture plane, conveying a sense of recognizable form that is almost completely abstracted. Repeatedly used in patterns in his work are tree roots, beehives, cocoons, plant forms, vertebrae, anthills, and insects.
