Description

US Navy service cap with a dark blue wool crown and a black, rounded brim. The front of the cap has a embroidered gold design of an eagle sitting atop a federal shield, with two crossed fouled anchors behind the shield. The brim of the cap is also embroidered in goldwork with a pattern of oak leaves and acorns. The gold strap along the brim has a brass button on either side. The stiffener in the crown of the cap is missing.

Worn by Admiral Charles E. Clark during the Spanish-American War.
