Large iron tongs with circular ends. The connecting end flares outward in a U shape before meeting in a single post that culminates in a round finial.

Use

Used to pick up burning embers from within a fire.

Context

Found in West Hubbardton, Vermont. Believed to have been used by a British encampment there during the Revolutionary War.
