Black wool garrison cap. There is gold-colored piping along the edge of the brim. The brim is embroidered in yellow with the word "VERMONT" and the number "22" and in yellow and blue with the insignia of the American Legion. There is a brown leather band around the interior of the opening with the partial label "Mrs." written on it in ink.
